Physical geographer Anne Fornier has created the first international foundation to warn of the risks and prevention needed in volcanic environments
“They have long warned of the risks associated with lack of prevention in volcanic environments, but governments tend to act like they feel like it’s raining. A week before the volcano erupted, they had written some questions to explain to the Congress of Deputies what was the implementation of the Civil Protection Plan against Volcanic Risk, launched in 2013. A few days later, nature would make the questions more timely than they would have wished.”
