EARTH AND VOLCANOES

Sant Jordi’s Day, the Volcano Active Foundation presented a new project of its environmental school Volcano School: the book La Tierra y Los Volcanes (The Earth and the Volcanoes).
The book was born as a result of the experience accumulated during months of teaching the Volcano School Masterclass in primary schools.
We discovered that volcanoes have a power of attraction in children that awakens their interest in increasing their knowledge of the environment.
Under this premise, we created and produced a 100% didactic book, with basic concepts about volcanic ecosystems. Its origin, functioning, parts of the volcano, types of volcanoes and types of lava, dangers… All graphically presented with simple and very descriptive illustrations.
The book is available in Spanish and Catalan at the price of 12 € in our online store.
With the Volcano School project and the book The Earth and Volcanoes, the Foundation increases its commitment to the Global Compact and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. We work to ensure that all children receive the necessary theoretical and practical knowledge to promote sustainable development (SDG4), strengthening children’s resilience to climate change and disasters caused by volcanic eruptions (SDG13) and raising awareness of the biological diversity of volcanic ecosystems so that new generations will be the ones to ensure their conversation (SDG15).
Since 2021 VOLCANO ACTIVE FOUNDATION has been committed to the UN Global Compact corporate responsibility initiative and its principles in the areas of human rights, labour, the environment and anti-corruption.
