PREOCUPANTE SITUACIÓN DEL VOLCÁN UBINAS

Ya van a ser casi dos meses desde que el volcán Ubinas entró en fase eruptiva, pasando de alerta verde a la actual alerta naranja.

Se han evacuado miles de personas y la situación inicia a ser preocupante, diferentes organismos del Perú están en campaña de prevención, monitoreo e incluso se preparan para acciones post-desastre.

Especialistas del Instituto Nacional de Salud están estudiando las cenizas y material que desprende el volcán.

Las cenizas pueden ser causantes de enfermedades ya que se pueden absorber por las vías respiratorias y los ojos.

Especialistas del INS realizaron un monitoreo de partículas tóxicas en los centros poblados ubicados en los alrededores del Ubinas.

El personal del INS monitorea el material particulado menor a 10 micras (PM10), capaces de ingresar por las vías respiratorias.
La cuantificación de PM10, determinará los niveles de contaminación alcanzados por la actividad volcánica. Como medida de prevención el gobierno está promoviendo actividades del cuidado de la salud y atención médica.

Un análisis del cráter del volcán devela que el Ubinas mantiene emisiones de gases leves.

El monitoreo fue realizado por el Instituto Geológico, Minero y Metalúrgico con la ayuda de unos drones, concluyeron que ante las leves anomalías térmicas detectadas los últimos días por el sistema MIROVA (menores de 3 MW- megawatt), se presume que el cuerpo de lava caliente estaría próximo a la superficie.

Además, que la gran erupción explosiva del día 19 de julio no logró agrandar el diámetro del cráter del volcán.

Por lo que se teme que aún deba venir la parte más gruesa de la erupción.


Se suma a la actividad volcánica del Perú, una fuerte erupción del volcán Sabancaya.


El volcán Sabancaya activo desde el 6 de noviembre del 2016 lleva dos años y 8 meses en erupción, con constantes explosiones que en el periodo más alto llegó a 65 por día, entre el 31 de julio y 6 de agosto del 2017.

El 1ro de agosto el volcán produjo una erupción más fuerte dejando una columna de ceniza de 4,4km.
