It took place at the Vulcano volcano in northern Sicily, it’s a type of porous, lightweight volcanic rock formed by the accumulation of pyroclastic material (< 4 millimetres) and water vapour jets during an episode of explosive volcanic activity and jets of water vapour during an episode of explosive volcanic activity.
