En estos paisajes, la lluvia cae sobre la vegetaci&oacute;n, se filtra en el suelo y fluye libremente sobre la tierra. Esta agua erosiona f&aacute;cilmente la <a class=\"glossaryLink\"  aria-describedby=\"tt\"  data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;CENIZA&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;Fragmentos finos (de menos de 2-4 mm de di&aacute;metro) de roca volc&aacute;nica formados por una explosi&oacute;n volc&aacute;nica o por la eyecci&oacute;n de una chimenea volc&aacute;nica.&lt;\/div&gt;\"  href=\"https:\/\/volcanofoundation.org\/es\/glossary\/ceniza-es\/\"  data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]'  tabindex='0' role='link'>ceniza<\/a> volc&aacute;nica y los restos rocosos de las laderas, tallando r&aacute;pidamente grandes canales y transportando enormes cantidades de sedimentos a zonas situadas decenas de kil&oacute;metros r&iacute;o abajo. Este exceso de sedimentos puede llenar los canales m&aacute;s alejados del volc&aacute;n, elevando los lechos de los r&iacute;os, reteniendo los lagos y provocando inundaciones m&aacute;s frecuentes. El agua que fluye vigorosamente en estas condiciones tiene la fuerza necesaria para atravesar los embalses y liberar las inundaciones generadoras de <a class=\"glossaryLink\"  aria-describedby=\"tt\"  data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;LAHAR&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;Tambi&eacute;n se llama flujo de lodo volc&aacute;nico o flujo de escombros. Una mezcla de agua y escombros volc&aacute;nicos que se mueve r&aacute;pidamente r&iacute;o abajo. La consistencia puede variar desde la del agua de plato fangosa hasta la del cemento h&uacute;medo, dependiendo de la relaci&oacute;n entre el agua y los escombros.
