A diferencia de la luz visible o infrarroja, las ondas de radar penetran la mayor&iacute;a de las nubes meteorol&oacute;gicas y son igualmente eficaces en la oscuridad. Por lo tanto, con InSAR es posible controlar la <strong><a class=\"glossaryLink\" aria-describedby=\"tt\" data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;DEFORMACI&Oacute;N&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;Cambios en la superficie de un volc&aacute;n que se producen debido al movimiento del magma debajo de la superficie. La mayor&iacute;a de las deformaciones volc&aacute;nicas solo se pueden detectar y medir con t&eacute;cnicas de topograf&iacute;a precisas, como un sistema de posicionamiento global (GPS), un medidor de inclinaci&oacute;n, un radar de apertura sint&eacute;tica interferom&eacute;trica (InSAR) o un medidor de distancia electr&oacute;nico (EDM).&lt;\/div&gt;\" href=\"https:\/\/volcanofoundation.org\/es\/glossary\/deformacion-es\/\" data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]' tabindex=\"0\" role=\"link\">deformaci&oacute;n<\/a> del suelo incluso con mal tiempo y de noche<\/strong>, dos grandes ventajas durante una crisis volc&aacute;nica.<\/p>\n<p>Es posible comparar dos im&aacute;genes de radar de la misma zona, recogidas en momentos diferentes desde puntos de vista similares en el espacio. Cualquier movimiento de la superficie del suelo hacia o desde el sat&eacute;lite puede medirse y representarse como una &laquo;imagen&raquo;, no de la superficie en s&iacute;, sino de la cantidad de movimiento (<a class=\"glossaryLink\" aria-describedby=\"tt\" data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;DEFORMACI&Oacute;N&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;Cambios en la superficie de un volc&aacute;n que se producen debido al movimiento del magma debajo de la superficie. La mayor&iacute;a de las deformaciones volc&aacute;nicas solo se pueden detectar y medir con t&eacute;cnicas de topograf&iacute;a precisas, como un sistema de posicionamiento global (GPS), un medidor de inclinaci&oacute;n, un radar de apertura sint&eacute;tica interferom&eacute;trica (InSAR) o un medidor de distancia electr&oacute;nico (EDM).&lt;\/div&gt;\" href=\"https:\/\/volcanofoundation.org\/es\/glossary\/deformacion-es\/\" data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]' tabindex=\"0\" role=\"link\">deformaci&oacute;n<\/a>) de la superficie entre dos im&aacute;genes. Las im&aacute;genes las proporcionan las agencias espaciales de Italia, Alemania, Canad&aacute;, Jap&oacute;n, Corea, Europa y Estados Unidos.<\/p>\n<p>Para crear esta &laquo;imagen&raquo; de radar <a title=\"MONITORING\" href=\"http:\/\/volcanx.cluster031.hosting.ovh.net\/fr\/?page_id=11396\">deformaci&oacute;n<\/a>, un pulso de energ&iacute;a de radar es emitido por un sat&eacute;lite, dispersado por la superficie terrestre y registrado por el sat&eacute;lite con dos tipos de informaci&oacute;n: amplitud y fase. La amplitud es la fuerza de la se&ntilde;al de retorno, influida por las propiedades f&iacute;sicas de la superficie. La distancia de ida y vuelta entre el sat&eacute;lite y el suelo se mide en unidades de longitud de onda de radar, y los cambios en esta distancia entre el momento en que se recogen dos im&aacute;genes de radar aparecen como una diferencia de fase. La combinaci&oacute;n de estas dos im&aacute;genes se denomina &laquo;interferencia&raquo; porque la combinaci&oacute;n de dos ondas tiene el efecto de reforzarlas o anularlas.<\/p>\n<p>InSAR ampl&iacute;a enormemente la capacidad de los cient&iacute;ficos para vigilar los volcanes porque, a diferencia de otras t&eacute;cnicas que se basan en mediciones en unos pocos puntos, <strong>InSAR produce un mapa de la <a class=\"glossaryLink\" aria-describedby=\"tt\" data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;DEFORMACI&Oacute;N&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;Cambios en la superficie de un volc&aacute;n que se producen debido al movimiento del magma debajo de la superficie.
